What if all of your efforts may be totally useless? Would you do it anyway?

What is the thing that you have to do?

The thing that if you didn't do, it would be completely against who you are?

What is the thing you can't imagine not doing?

For me? It's making art.

I wake up in the morning and I think about making, how things can come together; how things are made; how I respond to them as an artist.

Hi. I’m Amy.

I've been drawing (pretty well) since I started using a pencil-- a few decades ago (ahem). But who's counting? I've been to art school, continue to take art classes & make lots of things.

BUT... I hadn’t really put myself out there to sell my work.

In 2016, I was working in my studio one day. My daughter came in and said, "What are you doing in here? What are you going to do with all this stuff? Why aren't you a famous artist?"

I didn't know what to say. I had no words. Yeah. She was 9 and called my bluff.

So in January 2017 I did two things. I took on a 365 Daily Drawing Challenge

And For my word of the year I chose SHARE. I’ve been DRAWING & SHARING my drawings on social media ever since.

And guess what? I found out people like what I do.

The drawings that get the most interest I make prints and notecards of and sell them in my Etsy shop, markets and I am beginning to wholesale.

Thanks for reading, XO Amy

PS I’m in Wallingford and spend most of my time in New Haven.
