Today is my No. 99!
I can't believe this project has kept my attention for over three months.
A little more about me (from my soon to be Etsy Shop) & what's been driving me this year:
What if all of your efforts may be totally useless? Would you do it anyway? What is the thing that you have to do? The thing that if you didn't do, it would be violating who you are? What is the thing you can't imagine not doing?
For me, it's making art.
I wake up in the morning and I think about making
How things can come together; how things are made; how I respond to them
Hi. I'm Amy.
I've been drawing (pretty well) since I started using a pencil a few or more decades ago (ahem).
But who's counting?
I've been to art school, continue to take art classes & make lots of things.
BUT... I haven't really put myself out there to sell my work. Don't get me wrong. I've always been fortunate to work in creative jobs: designer, color consultant, window displays, floral designer, but there's something about making art. It's just the truest way for me to be me.
Recently, I was working in my studio. My daughter came in and said:
What are you doing in here?
What are you going to do with all this stuff?
Why aren't you a famous artist?
Yeah. She's 9 and totally called my bluff. I didn't know what to say. I had no words.
So instead of trying to explain myself, this January I did two things.
- I took on a 365 Daily Drawing Challenge
- For my word of the year I chose SHARE.
And that is exactly what I have been dong since January 1, 2017: DRAWING & SHARING my watercolor drawings on social media.
